Before we installed a solar system at health centers in Jupanziri, health workers were experiencing difficulties in communications.

A health worker would use a boda boda motorbike spending 10,000/= to go to Nebbi town, 25km away, to charge their mobile phone at a cost of 500/=. This was only done once a week.

It meant that reaching this health worker during a medical emergency situation was only possible on certain days. Installing solar power eased communication particularly in such important roles.
